BackgroundParis Whitney Hilton was born on February 17, 1981 to Richard and Kathy Hilton. She has three younger siblings, Nicky Hilton, Conrad Hilton II, and Barron Hilton II. Paris is a famous socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune. Paris is the great grandaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton Hotel dynasty, and the source of the family fortune. Conrad Hilton died in 1979 and left nothing in his will to his children or other descendants. Barron Hilton contested this decision in court and won in 1988.
Paris Hilton spent her youth living among exclusive homes in Beverly Hills, the Hamptons, and New York City where she lived in a suite at Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. She attended the Dwight School in New York, but dropped out before graduating and earned a GED instead
CareerParis Hilton has worked as a model, actor, singer, designer and writer. As a fashion model, Paris has worked for Catherine Malandrino and Marc Bouwer, an ad campaign for the Italian label Iceberg, and as a promotional model for GUESS clothing. Paris has also done TV commercials for T-Mobile USA and Carl's Jr., for which she was paid $USD 250,000 and $USD 400,000 respectively.

Paris and Nicole live with a rural family and perform menial tasks and take low-wage jobs, the humor supposedly found in the contrast between their actual cosmopolitan lifestyles and the synthetic rural lives on the show. In following seasons, they have have change the settings from rural to interning at various businesses. E! Entertainment Chanel picked it up for it's fourth season in 2007. Beyond television, Paris had minor and supporting roles in several movies, including House of Wax The Hillz, Wonderland, Raising Helen, and Nine Lives. Paris' first lead role was in the 2006 comedy National Lampoon's Pledge This followed by a lead role in Bottom's Up. Paris has also had cameo appearances in Zoolander, The Cat in the Hat, and Win a Date with David Hamilton!
Paris was also part of a controversial sex tape with her then boyfriend Rick Salomon. The tape was released on the internet, and eventually turned into a DVD entitled 1 Night in Paris. Paris sued Rick Salomon for releasing the DVD, but the suit was settled out of court. Paris received $USD 400,000 and a share of the profits, which she donated to charity.
Paris also founded her own record label in 1994, Heiress Records, a sub-label of Warner Brothers Records. She released her self-titled debut album, Paris, on the label, and plans to release other artists on the label as well. Paris's debut album was released on August 22nd, 2006.

Paris Hilton's first engagement was to model Jack Straw which lasted approximately 7 months, before Paris broke it off. On May 29, 2005, she announced her engagement to Paris Latsis, a Greek shipping heir, but called it off 5 months later. Soon after, she began dating another Greek shipping heir, Stavros Niarchos III, but the relationship was also short lived.
Legal Issues
Hilton was charged with driving under the influence in October of 2006. Her liscense was suspended in November of 2006, and she pled no contest to the reckless driving charge in January of 2007. The Judge sentenced her to 36 months probation and about $1500 dollars worth of fines.
On January 15, 2007, Hilton was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and was pulled over again on February 27, 2007 this time she was caught driving 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Prosecutors in the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney charged that these actions, along with the failure to enroll in an alcohol education program violated the terms of her probation. On May 4, 2007 Hilton was sentenced by Judge Michael T. Sauer to 45 days in jail for violating her probation. Many law experts have said in the media that this is more time in jail than the average citizen gets for same violations.
Jail Sentence
Hilton checked into the Men's Central Jail of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on June 3, 2007. This was 2 days early, as the Judge ordered her to be checked into jail by June 5 or risk doubling her sentence. She checked into the facility directly after attending the MTV Movie Awards. On June 7, Los Angeles County Sherriff Lee Baca signed orders to release Paris to 40 days home confinement with an electronic monitering device. He justified his decision based on an unspecified medical condtion of Hilton's and her being sentenced to more time than the average person. To the latter he said, ""My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice."
